WHAT IS WCPD?
The 9th World Congress on Preventive Dentistry will be the most important scientific meeting surrounding preventive oral health care.  Occurring only every four years, it is guaranteed to be a place where innovative ideas are shared and progress is made.  The three day congress will be centered around the theme, "Community Participation and Global Alliances for Lifelong Oral Health for All”.  Sessions, symposia and poster presentations will be held to complement the theme and allow participants to develop community action plans.  The meeting will culminate with a declaration, resulting from the ideas shared and progress made among participants.  The World Health Organization will serve as a co-host of this congress, strengthening the post-meeting impact across communities, worldwide.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Chief Dental Officers, dental public health researchers and administrators, governmental policy makers, NGOs focused on oral health, community directors for public health, preventive-focused health practitioners, and  anyone with an interest in promoting oral health for all.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
Under the theme, “Community Actions for Global Alliances for Lifelong Oral Health for All”, the WCPD program will bring together the latest preventive science with domestic and international health policies and best practices for community implementation and evaluation. Particular attention will be paid to involvement of communities and organizations in initiating, planning, implementing and evaluating oral health programs. The WCPD will build on previous declarations and resolutions, such as the WCPD 2005 Liverpool Declaration and the WHO 2007 World Health Assembly Oral Health Resolution, with a bias towards action.

SPONSORSHIP & SYMPOSIUM INFORMATION
WCPD provides a target audience for your business to promote products and services.  Your company’s involvement would help strengthen community action and stress the importance of re-orienting health services toward prevention. There is a need to create supportive environments and build healthy public policies .  Your support would  provide  the internationally renowned speakers the opportunity to educate the delegates attending  and enable them to bring back ideas and proven policies to their own  community, city and country. Heightened awareness of the importance of oral health to individual general health and to health of communities will be a benefit to everyone and a key congress deliverable.Questions regarding sponsorship should be directed to Catherine Reich, creich@iadr.org.
